MiHaven Training is excited to be one of the leaders in vocational training in the Far
North. We aim to provide exciting, on-time, relevant and pertinent training which
prepares our students for employment in the real world. To further our goals in the
provision of excellence in training, MiHaven Training recently partnered with a vibrant
Cairns based individual support provider - Ten Years Younger Home Care.

Ten Years Younger Home Care is a family-owned business that believes it is a privilege to
deliver tailored care to your loved ones in their own home. Their philosophy of providing
quality in home care and creating opportunities that build and enhance quality of life aligns
with the underpinning tenet of MiHaven Training’s philosophy. Ten Years Younger
employs the highest calibre of staff to deliver gold standard care. MiHaven Training
arranged practical placements for several students with Ten Years Younger.

Our students in the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability)
need to complete 120 hours of actual work placement experience to complete their
qualification. Not only did our students excel on training, but they were also so wellregarded, they were immediately employed by Ten Years Younger.
Ngoc (Ruby) Dao, Chanelle Burton and Masako Ishii were delighted to find out that their efforts to excel and succeed in their studies had been recognised with their job offer. They are all now part of
the Ten Years Younger Home Care family. On graduation and presentation of their
certificates, all three were handed employment contracts by Ten Years Younger Home
Care. To say there were three very excited students in the MiHaven Training offices later
that week is an understatement!

Graduate Ruby Dao said “Our trainer Sue was fantastic, Graham worked so hard to place us all, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to go from student to qualified carer. If you are looking for a training organisation, I highly recommend MiHaven Training.”

Owner and Director, Maureen Fields said “The values and commitment of the MiHaven
students fit the values and culture of our company. The flexibility of the students you
provide suits us perfectly. Your students have both ageing and disability knowledge, so the
flexibility allowing for seamless integration across all facets of our in-home care business is
invaluable.”

MiHaven Training’s Vocational Placement Coordinator, Graham Burridge said “I’m
delighted that our partnership with Ten Years Younger Home Care is beneficial to both
organisations. To have three students offered employment based on their placement
speaks volumes to the quality of student and quality of training we provide. It proves that
the training we offer is industry specific and our training is carried out so well that our
students become employees rather than merely students.”
