CPC10111 Certificate I in Construction
This qualification provides an introduction to the construction industry, its culture, occupations, job roles and workplace expectations. The units of competency cover essential work health and safety requirements, the industrial and work organisation structure, communication skills, work planning, and basic use of tools and materials.
The qualification is built around a basic construction project unit that integrates the skills and embeds the facets of employability skills in context.
This course is delivered face-to-face and includes a blend of theory and practical assessments.
Cohort - Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS)
Face-to-face training is delivered one day per week (2.5 hours per day) for 4 school terms, this program also includes two days excursion as part of the project.
It is suggested that students do 12 hours of independent study per week (over 12 months).
Cohort - Work Skills Traineeship
Face-to-face training is delivered one day per fortnight (2.5 hours per day) for 6 months. The training is conducted at the students workplace.
It is suggested that students do 10 hours of independent study per week (over 6 months).
Cohort - Lower Level Mainstream
Face-to-face training is delivered two days per week (5.5 hours per day) for 8 weeks.
It is suggested that students do 20 hours of independent study per week plus an additional 1 day per week of LLN support if required (over 6 months).

This course is also offered under Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) - funded by the Queensland Government - for high school students who are in year 10, 11 or 12.
