CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.
This course is offered as either face-to-face or distance.
Cohort - New Entrant Into The Industry or Skilled Learner
Face-to-face training is delivered one day per week (5.5 hours per day) for 52 weeks or two days per week (5.5 hours per day) for 26 weeks.
It is suggested that a new entrant into the industry do 20 hours of independent study per week plus an additional 1 day per week of LLN support if required (over 12-24 months); whereas a skilled learner or someone who already holds a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113) is suggested to do 10 hours of independent study per week (over 12-24 months).
Distance training is self-paced, which means students are welcome to complete the course as fast as they like. However, we recommend completing one to two units per month to complete within the 24 month time limit. No classroom training or attendance is required. It is suggested that students allow at least 20 hours per week of independent study to complete the course.
If you have completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113), it may be possible for you to Credit Transfer up to 12 units of competency.

It is a requirement of this qualification that you complete 240 hours of work placement, which we organise for you with one of our partner organisations.
It is mandatory that you are able to gain a Working With Children Check (e.g. a Queensland Blue Card) and complete first aid training (HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting) before commencing work placement.

Co-contribution fees are $50 for concessional participants or $100 for non-concessional participants.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
